Les Schwab Christmas Toy Drive 2017 #LiveOnKMTR
SPRINGFIELD, Ore. -- Here at NBC 16, we’ve been collecting items for our Les Schwab Toy Drive.
Thanks to you, we can help families in need put presents under the Christmas tree.
Thursday morning, Les Schwab dropped off truckloads of toys for those families as NBC 16's Allie Warren eagerly waited at the front door.
“The Les Schwab Toy Drive has been going on throughout Lane County for greater than 15 years now,” says Les Schwab Tires Manager Jason Gale. “These toys that are going to be dispersed will be going out to The Relief Nursery, Bratton House and the Salvation Army here in Eugene, Springfield and all throughout Lane County. We probably had somewhere around 40 to 50 bags of toys.
"It's excellent to know that we're part of a great community that really looks at helping out when there's a need. There’s one final week left, so we implore the community to get out there for one final push to make this one the biggest years yet.”
It's not too late for you to join in on the season of giving.
You have until December 22 to drop off toys, books or games at Les Schwab Tire Tire Centers in Lane, Coos or Douglas counties.
The toys will be distributed to children in need by:
Adopt these little "angels" in an expanding Christmas tradition that makes the season brighter for both the gift giver and receiver.
