Hoodoo and Willamette Pass open for first runs of the season
EUGENE, Ore. – Saturday was a happy day for many skiers and snowboarders and they took their first runs of the season down the Hoodoo and Willamette Pass slopes.
Both Hoodoo Ski Area and Willamette Pass Resort opened their lifts to snow enthusiasts Saturday after a week of accumulating snow.
Hoodoo reported a snow depth of 27.5 inches on opening day and Willamette Pass reported 30 inches at the lodge.
More snow is expected in the Cascades over the weekend. A cold front will push into northwest Oregon Saturday night and move through the area Sunday.
