EUGENE, Ore. - The 35th annual Lane County Home Improvement Show is getting underway this weekend, welcoming thousands to the Lane Events Center.

Organizers of the event say that an average of 20,000 people attend the show each year, most of whom are hoping to renovate part of their homes in the fall and winter.

Karen Ramus, the Show Director, says that most people focus on the inside of their homes rather than the outside in the fall months.

This event also connects numerous contractors with homeowners.

"If you're doing a project under one roof, you can talk to five or 10 contractors in that particular area to make sure you are working with the right people before you sign contracts," said Ramus.

The event is free of charge, but people are encouraged to drop off canned food for Food for Lane County.

The last day of the three-day event is on Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
