Fire destroys structure at powder coating company in Tangent
TANGENT, Ore. -- Over 50 firefighters and six engines responded to a fire on Old Hwy 34 in Tangent at Oregon Powder Coating Thursday.
The fire was still being contained after 8 p.m. Thursday. One structure was lost and firefighters were trying to save a second structure.
Albany, Linn and Benton county fire crews assisted Tangent firefighters in trying to contain the blaze.
Officials with Albany Fire Dept. say the fire broke out just after 4 p.m.
Oregon Powder Coating called to report the fire and crews evacuated everyone inside.
We're told at least two or three workers were inside the building at the time.
Two employees were evaluated by medical personnel and released.
No injuries have been reported.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
