EUGENE, Ore. - It's the first weekend of February, and once again, fresh food filled a block in downtown Eugene.

The Lane County Farmer's Market hosted its first market of the season, and all foods at the market were either gathered or grown by Oregon farmers or made in Oregon with a portion of locally grown ingredients.

Market Director Angela Norman says that customers can expect 25 to 30 vendors during their winter season, that that the mild winter has had an impact on the market's vendors.

"Last year we had those ice storms, and we had carrots and onions and potatoes out here, that was about it," said Norman. "This year, we've got so much color. We got lemons from greenhouses and rainbow chard and all kinds of stuff."

The Lane County Farmer's Market is open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Saturday through March. Along with accepting cash and debit cards, they also accept Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits.
