Eugene Police see zero calls for DUII on New Year's Eve

Multiple agencies will have more patrols out until September 7th in an effort to reduce drinking and driving.

LANE COUNTY, Ore. - It was a pleasantly quiet start to the new year for Eugene Police, at least when it comes to drunk driving arrests.

So far, police logs show that Eugene Police responded to zero DUII calls on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day.

However, the logs for Springfield Police show that officers responded to nine calls along the same timeline.

For Springfield, that's a six-call increase from the previous year, while it is a four-call decrease for Eugene.
