EUGENE, Ore. - From October 1 to April 27, measurable rain fell in Eugene on 145 of 208 days.

That's more than ever before in recorded weather history, according to the National Weather Service.

Rain fell on 141 days between October 1, 1920, and April 26, 1921, the previous record holder for the most days with rain in Eugene.

Yet, while rain has fallen with unprecedented frequency, the rainfall total is shy of a record.

From October 1 through Wednesday afternoon, 42.3 inches of rain had fallen on Eugene.

That's more than normal, but less than the record-setting Oct. 1 to March 31 "rainy season" of 1973 to 1974, when 68.35 inches of rain fell.

So when is it going to stop? We should see sunshine Friday and Saturday. | FORECAST

But Eugene has yet to see a 70F high temperature, something that has happened by this date more than 90 percent of the time since 1870. On average, April 1 is the first 70F day in Eugene.
