Delta flight makes emergency landing in Eugene
EUGENE, Ore. - Several passengers experienced quite a scare aboard a Delta flight coming from Salt Lake City to Eugene on Wednesday, when the pilot announced that there was a problem with the landing gear upon approaching the runway for landing.
Everyone is safe, but for many it was a nerve-wracking several minutes.
"I'm a person that when I first started flying, I was terrified of flying," said Terry Dubbe, a passenger on the Delta flight. "I've flown so much now that I'm used to it, but I don't know, that was a very, very scary thing."
Dubbe said that once the plane pulled back up way from the runway, they circled their airport three or four times before finally landing safely on the runway.
Airport Services Manager, Casey Boatman, said that the issue was with the steering, and the plane had to be towed off the runway.
NBC 16 has contacted Delta Airlines for more information, but they have not yet returned that request.
