2 dead, 2 injured in crash on Hwy 99
UPDATE: Police ID crash victims
EUGENE, Ore. - Two people died and 2 others were injured in a 3-car crash on Highway 99 north of Beltline Thursday.
Oregon State Police said 2 people in one of the cars died.
A person from each of the other involved vehicles were sent to the hospital, police said.
The crash happened around 9:30 a.m. near the intersection of Irving Road, north of Beltline.
No word yet on the cause of the crash.
Oregon DOT said to expect delays.
Southbound OR 99 is closed at Airport Road between Eugene and Junction City, following a crash at Clear Lake Road, just north of OR 569(Beltline). Northbound OR 99 has one lane open. A detour has been established for southbound traffic from Airport Road to Greenhill Road to Barger Drive to OR 569 (Beltline). Travelers should expect the southbound roadway to be closed for some time, northbound travel to be very slow, and take alternate routes.
All lanes had reopened by 1:07 p.m.
