COTTAGE GROVE, Ore. -- A Cottage Grove entrepreneur is launching a start-up business challenge.

Harold Frazier owns New Breed Seed Company which started two years ago.

He says he's thankful for the support of the community with his business and now wants to give back by helping to kick start other businesses.

So he's offering $10,000 for the best business plans out there.

It will be divided among first, second and third place winners.

"We thought maybe by helping other people who are interested in starting businesses get started that it might be a good way to help develop the economy in the area and provide jobs and give back," Frazier said.

The Chamber of Commerce, the Community Development Corporation and the Regional Accelerator and Innovation Network are all in on it.

The deadline for submission is Sept. 25.

More information and submission criteria are available through the competition website.
