Bomb Unit investigates 'suspicious object' in downtown Eugene
EUGENE, Ore. - The Eugene Police have blocked off several streets in downtown Eugene on Sunday in order to investigate what's being described as a "suspicious object."
EPD were made aware of the device at 2:08 p.m., and have blocked off streets from West Broadway to 7th Avenue, and from Olive to Charnelton Street.
The EPD Bomb Unit is on the scene using a robot to investigate, and officials are asking people to avoid the area until is's deemed all clear.
The device was located alongside some bushes on Charnelton Street, near West 8th Avenue. A passerby originally saw the device and called it in to police.
