CORVALLIS, Ore. - Beginning Tuesday, March 20, all dental services and selected mental health services provided at the Benton Health Center on 530 NW 27th Street will temporarily move to the 53rd Street Health Services Center to accommodate the renovation of the Benton Health Center, Benton County officials said..

The 53rd Street Health Services Center is located at the Benton County Fairgrounds, on the corner of SW 53rd Street and SW Reservoir Avenue, in a single modular building. Parking is available for patients and staff, and there is accessible parking available too.

The mental health services that will temporarily relocate to the 53rd Street Health Services Center include the Assertive Community Treatment Team, Wraparound Care Coordinators, Housing Team, Psychiatry providers and nurses.

Patients using the 53rd Street Health Services Center can still call the main Benton Health Center number at 541-766-6677 for scheduling, or they can make appointments while they're at the 53rd Street Health Services Center.

Patients that do not have access to Ride Line or other public transit options may use a new 53rd Street Health Services Center shuttle service provided by the County. The shuttle begins Tuesday, March 20, 2018, and will shuttle patients between the Benton Health Center on 530 NW 27th Street and the 53rd Street Health Services Center at the Fairgrounds.

The first shuttle pick-up starts at 8:15am at the Benton Health Center and following pickups will be a quarter past the hour (:15) and a quarter to the hour (:45). Pick up at the 53rd Street Health Services Center will occur on the hour (:00) and half hour (:30). The last pick-up at the 53rd Street Health Services Center will be at 5:30pm.

The mental health services that will remain at the Benton Health Center on 530 NW 27th Street are the Adult Outpatient team, Crisis Team, Jail Diversion Team, and Support Teams. The services, plus primary care, WIC, lab, Pharmacy, and immunization services provided at the Benton Health Center will remain open and available.

Patients will be able to enter the Benton Health Center as they do now, but the entrance by the WIC lobby will no longer be available. It is likely that parking at the Benton Health Center will become even more limited while construction is underway.

The remodel of the Benton Health Center is expected to be completed in 2019.

"The focal point of the renovation will be the new main entrance and centralized reception area where patients can access all services from the entrance, the county said. "A separate waiting room for mental health services and space for dental services has been allocated. The exterior will undergo renovation allowing for much-needed modernization."
