SEATTLE -- Coppertone the surfing dachshund and his pals are making waves at Safeco Field.

Lucy Pet's "Gnarly Crankin' K9 Wave Maker" made its debut outside the stadium on Thursday to promote the Seattle Mariners' "Bark at the Park" event.

The stadium goes to the dogs during Bark at the Park as fans bring in their pets to watch the Mariners face the Oakland Athletics Thursday evening.

The 75-foot, 5,000 gallon portable wave maker will be available during the game for attendees who've purchased a ticket for themselves and their dog in advance.

Pets will have the opportunity to hang ten with Coppertone, Macho the surfing and balloon popping chihuahua, Surfin' Jack, the Golden Retriever mascot, and their friends.

Lucy Pet Foundation is a non-profit organization whose sole mission is to prevent the euthanasia of 60,000 pets per week through spay and neuter education.

First pitch is set for 7:10 p.m. Interested in bringing your pup to the park? Visit the Seattle Mariners' website for ticket information.
