Medford, Ore. - Friends of the Animal Shelter (FOTAS) held its annual dog wash fundraiser at PetSmart on Crater Lake Highway.

The event helps raise money for Jackson County Animal Services to function throughout the year.

"Once [the dogs] get in here and figure out that they're safe and they're not expected to do anything that'll hurt them, they kind of just roll with the punches and think 'oh this is cool! I get to be wet legitimately!'" Sunny LeGrand, a volunteer with FOTAS, said.

In the coming years, FOTAS hopes to expand the event so kids can join the fun while their dogs get washed.
