Medal of Honor Exhibit

Come be a part of History as the Medal of Honor Exhibit officially opens at the Evergreen Aviation & Space Museum on Saturday, Oct. 24, 2015. Robert D. Maxwell of Bend the oldest of 78 living Medal of Honor recipients of all wars living in our nation and the only recipient living in Oregon will be honored at the event.

The exhibit honors Oregon's 26 Medal of Honor recipients who received our nation's highest military award for valor above and beyond the call of duty during 8 wars in 10 countries over 108 years beginning with the Civil War. The Medal of Honor citation and photograph of each recipient are displayed in the exhibit. Interactive kiosks contain the history of the Medal of Honor, citations and photos of all 3,495 Medal of Honor recipients and oral interviews of more than 100 recipients. The exhibit is located near the famed "Spruce Goose" and "Wright Flyer" airplanes.
